Wigan Peddlers was formed in October 2008 involving a group of cyclist wishing to take part in cycle ride fund raising events. The first event took place over six days in July 2009.

This involved a 250 mile bike ride from Great Yarmouth to Wigan raising over 5000 pounds for the British Heart Foundation.
